Glenmore RSVP Toastmasters Shine at Area 27 Contest

This past Saturday, March 21st, members of the Glenmore RSVP Toastmasters Club proudly represented our club at the Area 27 Contest, held at The Ampersand Building in Calgary. It was a fantastic day of learning, competition, and community spirit.

We were thrilled to have four of our members step up to compete. Joanne and Lauren showcased their speaking skills in the International Speech Contest, while Benedicta and Scott took on the fast-paced challenge of the Table Topics Contest. Competing at this level takes courage and dedication, and we are incredibly proud of all of them for representing our club with excellence.

In addition to our competitors, several members contributed behind the scenes to help make the event run smoothly. A big thank you goes to Sara, and Kathi, who served as Timer 1 and Timer 2, and to Oksana, who took on the role of Sergeant-at-Arms. Your support is essential to the success of these events.

We are especially excited to celebrate our contest results:

  • Scott earned 1st Place in the Table Topics Contest, delivering an outstanding impromptu speech.
  • Joanne achieved 3rd Place in the International Speech Contest, a wonderful accomplishment in a competitive field.

One of the highlights of the day was the incredible turnout from our club. With a total of 16 members in attendance, we had a strong and enthusiastic cheering section. Your encouragement and support truly made a difference and demonstrated the strength of our club community.

Congratulations again to all who participated, volunteered, and attended. Events like this remind us of the power of Toastmasters—not just in developing communication and leadership skills, but in building connections and supporting one another.

We look forward to continuing this momentum in future contests!
